VINTAGE-BOX · A CAMERA FROM ANOTHER AGE

Rental terms

1. Provider and rental object

The lessor is Eli Gujer, Studenrain 7, 8122 Binz (Maur), Switzerland, info@vintage-box.ch. The rental object is the Vintage-Box: a genuine historic plate camera, converted into a modern photo booth, with its agreed accessories. These terms apply to private and business rentals.

2. Inquiry, offer and confirmation

An online inquiry is non-binding and does not reserve a date. You can check and correct all fields before submitting, and request corrections by email afterwards. We review inquiries in order of receipt, subject to validity and feasible logistics. After acceptance, we send the exact rental details, total payment and an individual deadline. The agreement and reservation become binding only when the required payment is received within that deadline. We then send confirmation. Do not pay for a waiting-list inquiry. A late payment requires a new availability check; an unavailable date is not promised and an unallocated payment is returned.

3. One event and rental period

The final rental price is CHF 399.– for one agreed event. Unlimited digital photographs, basic props and one installed media set with capacity for up to 150 prints are included. Setup and test prints count towards that capacity. Several separate events require separate agreements: for example, a Saturday wedding and Sunday birthday, or a civil ceremony and a separate church wedding. Flexible collection and return do not authorise additional events.

4. Pickup, return and delivery

Self-pickup is at Studenrain 7, 8122 Binz (Maur). Pickup and return times are agreed individually. Friday evening to Monday evening is a suggested window for weekend events, subject to neighbouring bookings. Delivery is only by separate agreement, including any charge. Return all three main components and accessories completely and on time. Tell us promptly if a delay occurs. Documented additional costs attributable to a culpable delay may be payable under applicable law; there is no automatic undisclosed penalty.

5. Payment and additional print media

Payment is by bank transfer or manually arranged TWINT. We normally allow 5 calendar days, shortened for last-minute bookings so payment arrives before pickup; the deadline in the payment request is decisive. Equipment may not be collected before required payment unless we expressly agree otherwise. An additional sealed 150-print media package can be reserved. If returned unopened, it costs nothing. Once the package or seal is opened, the full CHF 60.– is payable, regardless of how many prints are used.

6. Cancellation

Send cancellations to info@vintage-box.ch. Before the booking becomes binding, withdrawal is free. For confirmed reservations, the applicable rental-price retention is shown below. Calendar days are counted from the date we receive your cancellation in Europe/Zurich to the event date; the event date is day zero. The security deposit and unopened extra media are excluded from the cancellation calculation. We may grant a greater refund or waive a charge. Mandatory rights and any legally required credit for saved costs or replacement rental income remain reserved.

7. Care and use

The renter must follow the handover instructions, supervise appropriate use, and take reasonable care during transport, setup, the event and return. Keep the Vintage-Box dry, protected from moisture and rain, and in shade without direct sunlight. It is a genuine historic object containing modern electronics. Ensure guests also handle it carefully. Use only for the agreed purpose. Do not alter the historical construction or remove components beyond the transport steps we expressly demonstrate.

8. Damage, loss and repairs

Please report damage, missing parts and faults promptly; we want to solve problems properly. Do not attempt repairs or drill, glue, screw into, repaint, modify or dismantle the historic construction. The renter is responsible for damage and loss, including conduct of guests or third parties to the extent attributable under applicable Swiss law. Necessary restoration following an unauthorised intervention may be chargeable to the responsible renter. Restoration may require historically and visually appropriate wood or materials; work will be reasonable and as economical as correct restoration permits. Normal wear from agreed use is not charged as damage.

9. Use outside Switzerland and deposit

Use abroad requires prior agreement and a refundable CHF 1’000.– security deposit. The deposit is not a limit of liability and is not the value of the Vintage-Box. Applicable actual loss, restoration or replacement costs can exceed this amount. The renter must comply with agreed customs, import, export and return obligations. After complete, correct return and fulfilment of those obligations, we promptly refund the deposit, subject to documented and legally justified claims. Any withholding is explained; an undisputed balance is returned promptly.

10. Technical faults and provider failure

Report faults promptly so reasonable troubleshooting and support can be attempted. If a defect for which the renter is not responsible materially prevents the agreed use, an appropriate partial or full rental refund is due depending on the severity and duration. Restrictions caused by prohibited conditions, customer/guest damage, disregarded instructions or unauthorised changes do not by themselves create a provider-fault refund. Mandatory defect and liability rights remain unaffected. Liability for intentional conduct or gross negligence is not excluded. If an unavoidable event prevents fulfilment, we discuss a reasonable solution and return amounts for services not provided where required by law.

11. Photos and privacy

The renter should inform guests about photography and ensure that collection and sharing are lawful. We use event photographs for delivery, not advertising without separate permission. Private online archives and links have a maximum 30-day availability; download and store your own copy in time. Contract and payment records have separate retention requirements. Details are in the privacy notice.

12. Applicable law and rights

Swiss law applies, subject to any mandatory rules that take precedence. Mandatory consumer jurisdiction and other mandatory consumer rights are preserved. These terms do not create a general EU-style 14-day withdrawal right. Any mandatory rights that apply in an individual cross-border case remain unaffected. Individual arrangements confirmed in writing take precedence within the law.
